The Excise & Taxation department, Government of Punjab has, vide its public notice dated 30th July, 2016, extended the due date for filing Quarterly VAT return VAT-15 to 5th August, 2016. The Copy of Public notice is given below.
The Ministry of Finance vide its order dated 29th July, 2016 has extended the due date of filing of Income tax return from 31st July, 2016 to 31st August, 2016 for Jammu & Kashmir and to 5th August, 2016 for rest of India. The reasons sited behind the extension are strike by bank employees on 29th July, 2016 and Sunday on 31st July, 2016, so to avoid hardship in depositing tax due the date is extended. further for Jammu & Kashmir the reason is recent unrest in the valley. The Central Board of Excise & Customs has extended the last date of submission of service tax return form ST-3 for the period from 1st October, 2015 to 31st March, 2016, from 25th April, 2016 to 29th April, 2016. The Copy of the order is given below.

Government of India vide its press release date 1st October, 2015 extended the date for filing of Income tax returns and tax audit reports to 31st October 2015. The copy of press release is given below.
CBDT in its earlier press release mentioned that as the software for ITR forms is under preparation, they are likely to be available for e-filing by 3rd week of June 2015. Accordingly, the time limit for filing these returns for AY 2015-16 is proposed to be extended up to 31st August, 2015. A separate notification will be issued in this regard. CBDT Order U/s 119(1) Of The Income-tax Act, 1961
The CBDT has issued an order dated 24.07.2014 u/s 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 with regard to the filing of income-tax returns by the due date of 31.07.2014 and the making of special arrangements for that purpose.
Public Notice dated 24.07.2014: -
1. An option in VAT-15 to take Input Tax Credit through Worksheet-6 instead of Worksheet-7 for 1st Quarter of 2014-15.
2. Extending the Due date of filing of VAT-15 return to 20.08.2014.
3. Date of tax payments will remain unchanged.
4. New VAT-15 with above mentioned option will be available from 25th July at Department's website.
The last date of e-filling of quarterly returns in VAT-15 for quarter ending 31.03.2014 is extended upto 31st May, 2014. But there is no change in last date for payment of VAT. Copy of Public Notice dated 22.04.2014 is attached herewith for your reference.
